About the Event
Wu Junyong has a hobby that can't stop is to paint on the human skin, he called it "skin painting". This vocabulary comes with fantasy and fits his creative world.
Growing up in Putian, Fujian, Wu’s artistic enlightenment comes from the flourishing folk art traditions of his hometown, which makes his creations full of mythical singularity; Wu's images have exceptionally strong reproductive abilities – No matter they are strange animals from mountains or rivers, or a slang in daily life, he’s able to turn them into a picture of surprise or laughter.
Wu Junyong's “skin painting” never repeats any pattern, but is generated immediately according to the dialogue between the artist and the person being painted. These unique patterns will stay on the skin for a few days, and then slowly disappear. The process is like an adventure of “Construction of Reality” on the skin, allowing us to see various possibilities beyond the routine in real life.
