About HOW International Curatorial Residency Program

HOW Art Museum is pleased to announce the launch of HOW International Curatorial Residency Program and its first open call for curators, scholars and arts writers worldwide who are interested to get deeper insight of Chinese contemporary art scene.

The program offers short-term and intensive, typically spanning from 7 to 30 days residencies at HOW Art Museum (Shanghai). Co-sponsored by HOW Art Museum and Onehome Art Hotel (Shanghai), the residency provides individualized arrangements. The arrangements include meetings with art professionals, studio visits, gallery and institution visits, and attendance at selected performances and other events. Furthermore, the participants are invited to work in close collaboration and coordination with HOW Art Museum’s curatorial team at our museum office, as well as to produce a website/Wechat article or essay, or to organize a public event such as a lecture.

The program provides accommodation at Onehome Art Hotel (Shanghai) with selected meals and working space at HOW Art Museum (Shanghai). The program will not include travel costs.

HOW International Curatorial Residency Program aims to motivate residency exchange opportunities around the world and to forge durable institutional relationships in the long run. We encourage applications based on a wide spectrum of curatorial practices, research skills and professional experiences.
